The SynMed Team:

Chris Blyth, Managing Director

Chris studied chemistry at the University of Surrey, qualified as Bachelor of Science and subsequently became an expert in the area of GI Function Testing. He founded SynMed (formerly Synectics Medical) in 1985. Under Chris’s directorship SynMed has developed as a leader in the field of GI diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Chris gives presentations and demonstrations all over the UK and provides expert advice and training on products and services.

To relax, Chris likes to play Bridge and when the weather is fine is a keen cricketer and tennis player. He is also an accomplished scuba diver and jive dancer.


Geoffrey Blyth, Business Development Director

Geoffrey is responsible for the development of new products and services. He works with key opinion leaders in the area of gastroenterology and is always keen to learn about new technologies from the experts in this field. His proudest moments are when he meets a patient who has been cured thanks to advancements in diagnostic and therapeutic systems.

Prior to joining SynMed Geoffrey spent 15 years building a group of language and computer schools in Thailand and two years developing a hotel complex in New Zealand. Geoffrey is a keen linguist speaking fluent Thai, Mandarin and a smattering of French, German and Italian. Geoffrey has also lived in Australia and experienced life as an exchange student in China.


Karen Miller, Office Manager
Karen brings postgraduate qualifications in Institutional Management and a broad depth of management and administrative experience to SynMed. Committed to SynMed’s vision, Karen ensures that we focus on the details that matter so that we continue to excel in the supply and support of leading products in the field of gastroenterology.

Karen likes to garden and play badminton and gets pleasure from 25 mile long bicycle rides on the weekends.


Eleni Kyriacou, Business Development Coordinator
Eleni enjoys bringing innovative new products to your attention, arranging training seminars, and facilitating participation in clinical trials and observations. Prior to joining SydMed Elini worked in sports promotion and marketing for national football teams and leading premier league teams.

Eleni speaks fluent Greek and qualified as a FIFA licensed players’ agent. She has two children and enjoys tennis, cooking and family life.


Tracy Fitzsimmons, Business Development Liaison
Tracy is eminently qualified in sales and customer service with an impressive working history in general sales management for high street fashion stores in the UK and in Spain and Germany. At SynMed Tracey focuses on bringing you news and information on the most innovative diagnostic and therapeutic technology currently under development.

Tracey finds time for yoga and pilates and is currently training hard for a Power Walk half-marathon to raise funds for cancer research. She still enjoys picking up a pencil or brush and being creative with the skills she learnt at art school.


Stuart Blyth, Sales Representative
Stuart has recently joined SynMed after taking a business degree at university. Stuart is engaged in installing software and training clinicians to ensure the best results for patients. He also offers ongoing telephone based technical support and trouble shooting for all our GI systems.

In his leisure time Stuart enjoys tinkering with cars, listening to music and socialising. He likes to spend time in hot sunny places when holidays come around.


Kerry Brown, Sales Administrator
Kerry is a multi-skilled member of the SynMed team with a portfolio that covers sales, exceptional customer service, contracts and repairs. Kerry has a strong working history as a retail account manager for some of the big names in the telecommunications industry.

Kerry enjoys walking, music and socialising with friends. She is expecting her life to change somewhat with the expected arrival of her first child in May.


Glen Sealy, Bookkeeper
Glen has a strong background in company account management, compliance, office management and project support. Several years’ previous experience working in hospital and medical settings gives Glen a very good feel for SynMed’s core business and for the business needs of our customers.

Glen is an avid reader of fiction and has eclectic musical tastes ranging from blues and jazz through to classical.


Michael Nesbitt, Service Engineer
Michael is a vital member of the SynMed Team and travels the country from top to bottom ensuring that SynMed systems and products are exceptionally well supported and serviced. He also provides ongoing telephone support to all users.

As a certified pilot and scuba diver Michael enjoys both water based and air based activities. On a calm day he will be found flying one of the three airplanes he has built. If the weather is a tad windy he prefers sailing. When it comes to things technical Michael is the expert.


Anthony Blyth, Technical Support

Anthony is our go anywhere, anytime, technical support person. He services and maintains computers and carries out basic repairs to ensure our customers are always up and running, day or night.

When Anthony isn’t pursuing his interest in technology and software systems at work, he takes to the outdoors wakeboarding and windsurfing or stays in playing the guitar, listening to music and socialising with friends.
